Walkthrough: 4 - Office Complex Part 1At the top of the lift, turn left and watch some Headcrabsgetting killed by an electrified wire, then kill any ones that getpast it. Crawl to the vent, and break it open with your crowbar,then turn right and crawl up the vent. At the end, jump out and killthe barnacle before it kills the scientist. Watch for Barnaclesbreaking holes in the ceiling and find a door that leads to aswitch. Press the switch. This turns off the lights, and allows youto pass the electrified wire earlier. The red double doors will openfrom this side so just walk through them.Go all the way along the passage and break the window to getthrough.
Office Complex is about the size and difficulty of Unforeseen Consequences. You will start to battle one of the most common enemies, the Vortigaunt, as well as Bullsquids and other enemies you have already encountered.It takes place in several of Black Mesa administration facilities, which have been overrun by the aliens. Turn left twice and walk up to the wooden door, then standback and watch the Zombie destroy the stuff around it then the door- kill it when it's done. You will find some pistol ammo in there.Optional - Get the Shotgun, health and ammunitionThen go round the corner to the left and break your way through theboxes. There is a Headcrab behind a very large box. Pick upthe shotgun on the box to your right and put it away - you don'tneed it yet - then walk over near the security guard and quicklykill the Zombie before it kills the security guard. He will then letyou through the gate.
Round the next corner is some health and ammo,but watch out for the Headcrab that comes down from above. Then getthe security guard to follow you (if you wish for protection) backto the red double doors earlier.Jump through the broken window onto a table in a flooded room(see picture). It is important not to touch the water as it iselectrified. Jump onto the worktop, then onto the table in front ofthe First-Aid Unit, then onto the other worktop. Press the lightswitch.
The water is no longer electrified. Walk through the waterto the vent.
While standing in front of it, three Headcrabs (oneafter the other) should try to attack you through the cover, killthem, then break the vent cover and climb through. Stay crouchedwhen you come to the big fan, then continue to the end of the shaft.The floor will break below you at the end. Open the double doors andget the security guard (if you brought him with you) to follow youinto the corridor.Kill the Headcrabs that think it's a good idea to drop in, thenget the boxes in a good position to climb the ladder in the ceiling.Climb through then break the vent, then the second vent, BUT DO NOTjump down into the room yet. You will then watch a scientist, then aHeadcrab be killed by a security gun gone bad. Save it here, thenwait for the security gun to stop bleeping and turn off. Jump downand run to the right and under the platform and pull the lever, thiswill turn it off properly (it won't attack you again).
Break all theboxes then go through the door in front of you. Collect the ammothen:. Continue and collect your security buddy, or/and.
Return to the room with the security gun.Walk round the corner and quickly kill the Headcrabs. Then climbthe stairs and meet another security guard. Walk round the twocorners and kill the Headcrab that falls from the ceiling.
At thispoint it's a good idea to get out that shotgun you've been saving(if you picked it up in that optional box). Walk in the door on theleft and collect the health and power. Then return to the corridorand quick-save the game.Map of AreaSlowly make your way around the area killing the Alien Slaves asyou go. A Headcrab will fall down at 'A'. Do not pass the dottedline yet.Go to the 'maintenance access' square in the diagram above.Break the ceiling there. A ladder is concealed behind it.
Climb theladder.At the top (see picture) run round to the automated machine gun,then run round the corner and switch it off (just switching it offwithout running round first won't work). Then climb back down theladder. Head to the 'Exit' in the diagram above, there is anotherAlien Slave hiding behind the second vending machine. At thestaircase make sure your security guard (if you bought him) isn'tkilled by the barnacle. Climb the stairs and be careful of lots ofHeadcrabs and walk round a few corners and kill the Alien Slaves.You have completed part 1! Save your game.Part 2Optional:When you walk through the red door,there is a vent access behind you.
This eventually leads you to someammo and health. Follow the shaft through to a fan room. Climb the ladder andwalk over to the fan.
Then exit the room through the same doors which locked you out before. Walk by the now-powerless electrical wires and bust through the window.First, go to the left and bust through a bunch of boxes with your crowbar. You'll find a shotgun, as well as a guard who is being ambushed by a mutant.
Help him out with your newfound firepower - he'll open the gate for you, and you can pick up some goodies.Continue back and jump through a window into a room flooded with water. Don't touch the water - it's electrified. Hop from table to table over to the power switch to kill the juice.Whack open the grille in this room and jump into another ventilation shaft.
You'll face some headcrabs and then a head-lopping fan (remember to duck).You'll crumble the floor and fall into another room. Push the big and small crates so they're undernath a ladder up in the ceiling, then jump up from one to the other to the ladder. Crawl through, breaking vents along the way, but pause a moment before jumping out the last one.
That scientist wasn't as cautious.Jump out and take care of the security gun. You can get physical and take it on mano a mano with your pistol and shotgun, or you can deftly crawl underneath it and flip the switch to deactivate it.Go up the stairs a few times. You'll come across a room with a boarded-up doorway. Break the planks and keep going.You'll come to a giant meat locker. Open the door using the handle to the left.
Inside, walk left and press a switch which will start a trolley above you that moves back and forth. Go back, climb a ladder, crawl around a bit, and then hop on the trolley when it comes past you.
Then, smash the crates on the trolley and jump off the other side into another shaft.Crawl through the shaft, jump up into another shaft, and continue until you jump out in front of a set of stairs.Go up the stairs, and find the elevator shaft. You'll have to make a big leap across and grab onto the ladder on the other wall.
