Hii just purchased a Leadtek Winfast 2000 XP Deluxe capture card. I tried installing the drivers from btwincap.soundforge.net and everytime they are installing i get the blue screen of death. So i decided to use the drivers from Leadtek, and capturing video is fine, however the audio, sounds kinda tinny, like it is vibrating or echoing. May have found a work around for this problem, I tried using Win dvr & had much the same distortion on the capture as the winfast pvr. Checked the record level in the Sound & Audio Devices selection in Control Panel, found all ok, but then left the 'line in' record slider visible while I played around with test recording with Winfast pvr. Found if the Windows record slider is slid down to 0 then up to just past the 2nd lowest increment (after starting the recording) it cleared the distortion. Hope this helps.
I also received a Winfast TV2000XP card-just arrived. The btwincap.soundforge.net drivers installed fine for me under XP. I didn't bother installing the Leadtek drivers (even though I downloaded the new ones just in case) because I hear it takes up more system processes than the btwincap.soundforge.net ones.My sound sounds fine except for desyncs-probably because I'm using the line-in on my sound card instead of the Winfast TV2000XP. I'll try the Winfast line in and report my results. My Installation Process:Shutdown. Insert Winfast TV2000XP Deluxe card into PCI slot. I got the 'New hardware detected' message and I canceled the message.
Double clicked the btwincap.soundforge installer. Manually selected 'Leadtek Winfast TV2000XP' card during the installation process. Checked the radio option. Finished installation. Reboot (just in case). On boot up, card was detected in Device Manager as 'Conextant's BtPCI WDM Audio/Video Capture.'

Apps Experience:Dscaler worked but I didn't like the deinterlacing (tried all the different types) as everything looked either jumpy or line doubled. I wasn't impressed with Dscaler (latest stable version).Virtual VCR ( - different from) worked great. Other than the multiple option tabs (they should have consolidated some of the options), I find Virtual VCR to be a very streamlined and stable capture app (also drops very few frames compared to other apps including AVIIO). However, I'm finding some sound desyncs in long captures.Studio 7 had limited vertical capture resolution (x240) and no ability to select PicVideo MJPEG or Huffy codecs.AVIIO worked under the VFW to WDM wrapper but it crashed and rebooted 90 minutes into a 120 minute capture. Also, AVIIO is unable to capture to 1 AVI file; it can only capture to segmented AVI files under NTFS.
I'll epox ep-8k9a7i realtek audio.

I found out that the btwincap.soundforge.net drivers didn't install a sound capture driver, according to the FAQ. As such, it requires audio capture from the soundcard. The official Leadtek codecs should install the audio capture codecs and should be able to capture from the Winfast TV2000XP card but I will have to wait a while to try this.Truly enjoying the simple and beautiful interface of Virtual VCR and it's stability, I was determined to solve the sound desync problem and I found a way.Sync procedure:1. In Virtual VCR, click on 'Settings' button, click on the 'AV Sync' tab, check 'Resample Audio and Resample audio dynamically.' Now, the captured AVI will play back in sync.
However, don't be fooled that everything is now synced. When you encode to MPEG1/2, the sound will be desynced again. The reason for desyncs is due to framedrop handling in Virtual VCR (VV). VV doesn't insert frame drops as full frames, unlike AVIIO, it only flags them. When Tmpgenc reads this AVI file, it doesn't interpret the dropped frame flag as a signal to repeat the encoding of the frame during MPEG encoding and as such Tmpgenc skips this drop frame during the encoding process, resulting in desynced AV which is noticeable with sufficient dropped frames.2. Open the AVI in VirtualDub, go to 'Video' tab, click 'Frame Rate', and click 'Change so video and audio durations match'. Frameserve to Tmpgenc or CCE.Now your finished MPEG 1/2 will be perfectly synced.Hopefully the Virtual VCR author will soon find a fix for this AVI flag issue and then we don't have to use the VirtualDub fix method.
Cheers for that info bbb, I had installed the BTwincap drivers, got to start capturing in Morgan mjpeg when I promptly ran out of room. Had a bit of a play with the bundled software PVR & Ulead Video Studio 6 SE, found PVR ok to use at all resolutions straight to mpeg1/2, but I miss the vital info like frames dropped & time/space left on drive. Mpgs captured this way ran smooth with no sync problem after 95 mins. The Ulead program had frame dropped info but would not go to 720 x 576? The capture to mpeg4 is of interest 30Mb per 6mins at vcd resolution.
I know this thread is old, but hopefully someone can help me out.I have a Leadtek 2000XP Deluxe card. I use Winfast PVR to capture DVD mpeg compliant files. The files play fine after capturing, but when I cut commercials out with Womble, i have 'audio drift' sync problems.
If I keep the commercials, and go straight to authoring with (ive tried Video Studio 7 also), the audio drift problem is there also in the end result. Like I said, the video file plays fine before I author it.I cant capture to AVI, since I only have about 40GB to work with, so does anyone know a way to capture to mpeg2 dvd compliant files without havining audio drift problems? Is there a way to fix the audio drift problem in the existing file(s)? I know this thread is old, but hopefully someone can help me out.I have a Leadtek 2000XP Deluxe card. I'm using the same card and experienced the same discrepancy.
My audio started leading the video after about 8 minutes and progressively got worse while viewing a re-encoded MPEG. Problems with Ensoniq drivers might be due to the fact that there is more than one version of the card and the downloaded drivers from Creative only work with one of them. I had to remove all traces of the updated drivers and reinstall from the CD. The problem with Ulead VS 7 can be fixed by selecting 'Force preview mode' under Capture options. You should be able to use any codec with VS 7.
I can use Pic, Huffy and the mpeg 1 and 2 that come with Ulead. I also can select any resolution to capture.I don't think you can capture sound with any TV card alone, but I am pretty sure you have to connect the Leadtek to your sound card to capture any sound.
